Jamie’S JOURNEY SO FAR

Jamie joined the Moving On programme in 2016 after leaving school with few qualifications and becoming NEET.

HOW HAS Jamie BENEFITED FROM BEING INVOLVED?

The Moving On programme provided opportunities to work in a small group and access learning support that helped develop strategies for self-management and task focus.

WHAT SKILLS HAS Jamie LEARNED?

Jamie has learned to acknowledge how ADHD makes her feel and also that it is a condition which can be managed. She now understands that the best person to help her is herself. She is also familiar with recognising the point at which she is stuck and finding the best source of guidance independently instead of distracting others.

WHAT ARE Jamie’S FUTURE PLANS?

Jamie is now participating in the {Pathway to Childcare course where she is progressing well and has recently been involved in the National Citizenship Service residential trip organised by the College.

WHAT BARRIERS HAS Jamie OVERCOME?

Jamie has learned how to manage her ADHD and help herself.

WHAT DID Jamie HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE MOVING ON PROGRAMME

Without the Moving On programme, Jamie may not have had the confidence or social skills to move onto this new pathway. She would recommend the Moving On programme to anyone struggling with ADHD or family issues.
